Pietra, calce e legnoStone, lime and wood
At the building’s corner the casello’s three materials are read together: the dressed limestone blocks, the ochre lime plaster and the timber frame of the eaves.
The limestone, left exposed at corners and edges, gives the building both strength and line; the lime protects the masonry and dresses it in the colour of the countryside; the wood carries the curved-tile roof. Nothing superfluous: each material does its job.
